Abstract

The Covid-19 epidemic, which has shown its effect all over the world, has started to show itself in our country since March 2020. The epidemic had different effects at pre-school, primary, secondary, undergraduate and graduate levels, all education levels were affected by the epidemic. Although technology plays an important role in ensuring the continuity of education, it is inevitable that there are positive and negative reflections throughout the process. It is possible to say that these effects cannot be ignored, especially in secondary education and undergraduate programs that provide hands-on training based on experience. One of these programs is the Interior Architecture / Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Programs, which provide undergraduate education. It is possible to say that in addition to theoretical courses in interior architecture departments, interactive courses based on drawing and showing by doing are especially important in the first two years. Distance education carried out during the epidemic has led to different experiences in the continuation of these practical and theoretical courses. In this study, it has been tried to focus on how the faculty members of the Interior Architecture program spent their education process and what they experienced during the epidemic. In the research, the opinions of the faculty members who teach in Interior Architecture programs at different universities were taken. For data collection, semi-structured interview forms were prepared online, semi-structured and sent to the relevant persons via e-mail. The obtained data were analyzed by coding with the content analysis method. As a result, the problems and experiences experienced by the faculty members during the education period were revealed and suggestions were made for the continuation of interior architecture education during and after the epidemic.
