Prof. Zeynep Onur is graduated from the State Academy of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Architecture. She obtained a Master degree in MBA from the Academy of Administrative and Economic Sciences and she completed the Ph.D. degree from the Gazi University in Architecture. Professor Onur worked at Gazi University in the Department of Architecture between 1978-2002, at the Girne American University between 2002-2011. Between 2011-2016 she was the Dean of Faculty of Architecture of the Çankaya University, and between 2011-2016 she was the Dean of Faculty of Architecture at AHEP University in Turkey. She is a Member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Semiotic Studies (IASS) as a Representative of Turkey. She is the author of the book of “Modern Sonrası Mimarlık Üzerine Notlar” (with Ziya Tanalı in 2008) and she is the editor of the architectural monography of the Turkish architect Ziya Tanalı (since 2010). She received the “Asia Region Award” for the work of "Ankara Meeting" from the International Competition "Convivial Spaces," organized by the United International Architects (UIA). She was awarded the “Special Selection of Jury Award” for the work of "Architect’s Dream," in the International Competition of "Our Dreams" organized in Switzerland in the honor of John Lennon, in the 3rd Anniversary of Humanist International. Currently, she is working as Professor in the Department of Architecture and is also the Dean of the Faculty of the Architecture at Near East University in Cyprus.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Buket Asilsoy

Buket Asilsoy graduated from Famagusta College in the year 1994. Later she graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Forestry, Department of Landscape Architecture. She had an MSc degree of ‘Landscape Planning’ from Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Architecture Department of Urban and Regional Planning. She worked at various companies both in Istanbul and Cyprus since the year 1999. She has completed her PhD studies in 2015 at Eastern Mediterranean University Faculty of Architecture Department of Architecture with a thesis titled ‘Measuring the Potential for Ecological Citizenship among Famagusta Residents’. Buket Asilsoy is a lecturer at Near East University Faculty of Architecture Department of Landscape Architecture since 2010-2011 spring term. She was appointed as Assistant Professor at the same department in March 2016. She is giving lectures about landscape design (residential gardens, public green spaces, mass housing sites etc.), history of landscape architecture, urban landscape planning and history of urban planning. Buket Asilsoy has international and national academic works such as SSCI and SCI-Expanded articles, conference papers and presentations. Additionally she was the head of the Chamber of Turkish Cypriot Landscape Architects for the periods 2014-2016 and 2016-2018. In March 2019, she has been appointed as Associate Professor at Faculty of Architecture Department of Landscape Architecture.
