Near East University Faculty of Theology Journal (YDUILAF) is the first academic journal in Cyprus in field of theology. The aim of the journal is to convey to those interested in scientific knowledge produced in Turkey and the world's various regions. However, its main purpose is to share the scientific studies produced in Cyprus with the world. Because Cyprus, with Islam and Muslims fifteen centuries ago, the Prophet. Shortly after the death of the Prophet, he met during the Umayyad period. Cyprus, which opened its arms to the first Muslims during this period, still enjoys the rightful pride of continuing to welcome some pleasure from this valiant mass in its bosom. Cyprus, which has been trying to contribute to Islamic civilization with its own modest accumulation since the meeting with Muslims, did not hesitate to share its scientific accumulation with the free world of that day through the books delivered to the pleasure sent from Baghdad during the period of Harun er-Rashid. It is a matter of explanation that these works, which were put into the Beythel-Hikmah and even partially translated, contributed to the development of Islamic philosophy, medicine and pharmacology. Cyprus has chosen to share its accumulation with the scientific world in later periods. As a matter of fact, during the Ottoman period, he kept his stance with the Cyprus rated correspondent sages he had trained. Even though Cyprus experienced some stagnation in the point of scientific knowledge produced in the field of theology after the Ottoman Empire, it is moving forward to the point it deserves in this field after obtaining its independence.

Today, Cyprus is becoming an educational island, hosting thousands of students from different countries of the world and educating them to contribute to preparing the world for better tomorrow. Of course, these students also have students of Theology. These days Turkey and all the students who come from different countries, including Islamic countries, particularly among those students recently though Cyprus will also take place. The same is true for teachers. As a matter of fact, in the near future, many professors from different countries of the world will work in this science and wisdom, while educating students on the one hand, it will contribute to the production of authentic religious knowledge on the other.

Because of this goal, our journal has adopted not only the articles written in Turkish which is the language of education of today's Faculty of Theology, but also accepting articles in the languages that will be monopolized by the teachers and students coming from different countries in the near future. On this occasion, since the first issue, Arabic, English and French, which is the official language of many African countries, have been accepted and published in addition to Turkish.

Our journal is published two issues per year in accordance with the criteria set by the Higher Education Council, the upper umbrella of scientific knowledge producing institutions in Turkey. For this reason, it has been based on technical and scientific criteria adopted by TÜBİTAK-ULAKBİM since its first issue. As a matter of fact, it is decided to publish all academic studies, except for travel notes, symposium, conference and panel evaluations, book and article promotion, analysis and criticism, which are received by two referees. YDUILAF aims to become a publication which is scanned by international indexes, especially TR Index.
