Abstract

After the Second World War, contrary to the traditional approach, the structure of international law and international community has been changed by the participation of non-state actors. Today, international law provides human rights and other rights originated from their status to the indigenous peoples. These rights are one of the many consequences of the modern international law. Indigenous peoples live around the whole world including the North Pole, where is the most affected place from the global warming. They have faced very serious problems regarding the ecological changes in the area. Yet, the Arctic States count in them as well to the regional cooperation for the protection of Arctic environment and restoration of the ecological balance.
