The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the development and urbanization process of globalization on the coastline of the city of Genoa and to analyze the impact of architectural globalization on the functional diversity of port structures. It aims to provide information on how the trade flowing on the coastline of Genoa has been transformed by the effects of the global economy and how the urbanization process on the coastline has evolved. The main objective of the study is to reveal how port structures have been transformed in the historical and geographical context of Genoa and how functional diversity is related to globalization. The study details the historical development of the Genoa coastline and its spatial configuration. First, regional analyses and then the annual reports of the City are analyzed. The study focuses on the coastline of the City of Genoa, focusing on the development between 2000 and 2024. The variety of themes, foci, relationships and functions that are prominent in the port structures and the coastline in this time period are analyzed. Tables and figures have been created in line with the information obtained, followed by a graphical narrative. The information obtained after the literature summary, visual analysis, spatial analysis and the analysis of the annual report of the city of Genoa guided the way to the conclusion of this study. The information obtained was explained through tables and figures and the conclusion was reached by using the 'Network Analysis' method. As a result of the information obtained from the historical development process of the Genoa coastline, coastal trade was traced and the effects of commercial globalization on port structures were analyzed. These effects are discussed under two headings: spatial and structural.
