For the city, which is physically composed of buildings and spaces, the more important the buildings are, the more important are the top covers of these structures, which give the character of social spaces to the city and are designed with their aesthetic and functional qualities at the same time. In today's urban structure, the cover has also moved on and has other functions than covering the space, rather than being a single function. This research deals with the concept of the cover as the self-representing component of the space, tries to theoretically define the transformation process of the cover as a space component into an element that represents the space, and tries to explain it through the original examples selected from today's urban spaces. In this context, in the research, the interaction of man with the cover in the space has been identified with the individual's state of affairs in the language and the interaction of the user with the cover has been defined as "Cover as a Situation in Urban Space". The sample cover/space was selected for the 11 cover classes created and evaluated under the titles of space-cover, activity-cover and form-cover. The findings show that the cover has formally evolved into the dominant element of the space. With the increase in the complexity in the form, size and details of the cover, it turns into the building itself rather than the shell of the space. And this transformation now necessitates the design of the cover with a multidisciplinary designer group and presents an important opportunity for us to take our place in this structure as landscape architects.
