Kamusal Alan Olan Parkların Mekansal Kalitesinin Artırılmasına Yönelik Kentsel Tasarım Rehberlerinin Önemi

Abstract

Public spaces are places where individuals carry out their daily routines and carry out their cultural activities. At the same time, they are defined as common spaces that bring the individuals that make up the society closer to each other (Kostoff, 1999). Public spaces; They are areas where individuals, regardless of status, language or culture, can have a say about the city and socialize.

Nowadays, public spaces face the problems of being unqualified and poor quality. A systematic and strategic approach to public spaces in cities increases the possibility of creating a quality and livable public space.

In the study; An urban design guide was created as a strategic method with the approach of improving the quality of Sadabad Park and Maçka Democracy Parks, which are the study area.

Looking at examples of design guides from around the world, it has been seen that the systematic and strategic approach to be provided in public spaces in cities increases the possibility of creating a quality and livable public space. The urban design guide produced in the light of successful examples and quality parameters can also be used as a source for guides created for different purposes and scales. The physical and functional characteristics of Sadabad and Maçka Democracy Park have been researched and a new framework has been aimed to be determined based on the principles of space quality in public spaces found in the literature. In addition, it is aimed that the study will serve as a theoretical and practical basis for future public space designs. In line with these goals and principles, both the quality parameters and the parameters in the urban design guide were analyzed and an original table adapted to the areas studied was created, and the Sadabad Park and Maçka Democracy Park design guide was grouped under six headings. These; These are Morphological, Social Cohesion, Aesthetics, Perceptibility, Comfort and Technical features.
