Abstract

Urban furniture can be defined as aesthetics and comfort elements that reflect the identity of a city and enable the urban space to become livable. Urban furniture is an important element of the city in order to improve the quality of urban life, to create a comfortable and reliable environment and to meet the needs of the users in the best way. For designing these elements, the social, economic, cultural and architectural structure of the city should be considered and evaluated. Urban furniture plays an active role in university campuses in terms of functional, architectural and aesthetic values. In this context, the Near East University campus is discussed in this study. Existing street furniture has been classified and evaluated. The presence of artistic objects in the campus provides a significant benefit to the spatial identity of the campus. Improvements to other city furniture, especially garbage cans, will support the spatial effect of the campus, which is very important for the entire city.
