Abstract

The world, which is in constant change, affects people and the lifestyle of them to a great extent. As long as the human survives on Earth, the state of interaction will continue. This study aimed to constitute the relationship between the creation of working areas in dwelling, which are becoming needed day by day, with up-to-date design concepts, the effect of the user on working efficiency, and the level of concentration. During the pandemic, which started in 2020, people lost their boundaries around them by moving all of their lives into a residence; in the light of personal field research conducted by Edward T. Hall, new solutions have been tried to clarify the boundaries. The relationship of human with their environment in their personal and working life has been analyzed within the framework of the concept of Proxemic, and the criterion of personal space distance has been tried to be revealed with literature researches in the context of geography, culture, and human psychology. In terms of creating personal zones of the area definition methods in existing spaces, suggestions were made to the current designers with the inferences made from the psychological effects of the individual in the process of transition from common areas to personal spaces. With the developments in technology and education, it has been concluded to adapt to the change by applying the negative effects of moving life to the home on the society and the individual as a separate working area in the light of the "new normal" order.
